-What happens at a car auction? What is the LIVE! auction?
An auction has 2 phases:
A first auction is held for a few days. You have plenty of time to have a good look at the  vehicles (normal cars - damage cars-salvage cars).
You can even make a bid or set your highest bid at this stage, if you cannot be present for the LIVE! auction.
The first car auction is followed at once by a second auction, the LIVE! auction.
The vehicles are brought under the hammer within a few minutes (or even seconds) of each other. The damaged vehicles are shown online and anyone interested can make a bid. A countdown system (“5-4-3-2-1-sold”) indicates clearly when you have to bid and who your rivals may be.
And so, during this LIVE! auction, you know at once if the vehicle is yours.

- What does it cost to buy or sell?

For buyers, this fee is between €99.00 and €249.00, depending on the price of the vehicles (car - damage car - salvage car) ( prices). Sellers pay a fixed service fee. Both parties have to pay a small administrative registration fee of €75.00 on there first purchase/sale.

  • When the seller fills in the vehicle (i.e. car, damage car, salvage car) index card, he or she has to guarantee that the vehicle conforms to the details, or else he or she is suspended.
  • The purchaser can examine the vehicle on location, if necessary. If it does not conform to the description, the buyer and seller usually find a mutually acceptable solution i.e. a price reduction to take account of the value of the inaccurate description. If this is not the case, the buyer can refuse to buy the vehicle.
  • If the vehicle does conform to the description, the buyer is obliged to buy.

E.g. present bid = €10,000, your maximum bid = €15,000.
Other potential buyers do not bid higher than €11,000. The auction system automatically bids €11,100 for you. If no one makes a higher bid, the vehicle is yours for €11,100.

For potential buyers, it is always vital to have the highest bid if they want to buy a vehicle.

- Why is the minimum or reserve price concealed?
A visible minimum or reserve price constitutes a psychological barrier which deters some from bidding. Only a few people will bid under the minimum price, yet these low bids are needed to climb to a higher price. They have a certain power of attraction which eventually leads to a higher price. If the minimum price is visible, a lot of potential buyers would be scared away.

Some vehicles will not reach the minimum or reserve price, yet they will still be sold. We will announce the highest bid to the seller and the seller can still accept the bid within 24 hours. This will often lead to a purchase/sale.
If the seller does not reply within 24 hours, the bid below the minimum price is automatically regarded as too low and the potential buyer is informed.
Was this the answer to your question ?
 Yes    No
OK
40
- Why do bids start so low?
Because traders often set a low bid in order to monitor a vehicle (normal car, damage car, salvage car). In this way, the vehicle appears on the list of vehicles to be monitored in “my vehicles”. As the car auction progresses, higher bids are offered, depending on whether or not  traders are really interested in the vehicle.

- Why is it more efficient for me?
In no time at all, you have a large audience for your sale. This gives you a better chance of selling your vehicle (normal car, damage car, salvage car). As soon as the car auction has started, you can only deregister your vehicle if you contact us directly by e-mail and we agree to this deregistration. This deregistration will only be approved if there are very good pressing reasons for it. We make the final decision in this matter.

46
- What are my responsibilities if I sell the car?
You must give an accurate description of the vehicle (car, damage car, salvage car), take plenty of photographs and you are obliged to supply them. Therefore it is important that you keep this vehicle from the moment that you put it up for sale until the auction is finished (maximum 7 days). All registrations are binding as soon as the auction starts. If the vehicle reaches the minimum or reserve price or if a transaction is brought about in a different way via 321Autotal, the vehicle is sold.
All sellers must guarantee and, if necessary, prove, that the presented vehicle is free of any ownership conditions, sequestration orders, purchasing rights, repurchasing rights, and/or sales rights. Sellers must also guarantee that there are no other factors which could restrict or hinder the sale of the product (e.g. vehicle).

47
- May I sell the vehicle to third parties?
No. As soon as the vehicle is put up for auction, you are obliged to supply the vehicle in accordance with your description. This means that you must reserve the vehicle (normal car, damage car, salvage car) until the car auction has finished (maximum 7 days). If the car reaches the minimum or reserve price or if a transaction is brought about in a different way via 321Autotal, the agreement is binding. 321 Autotal also has the right to a service fee.

- Can a vehicle be rejected for auction?
Yes. If, in the opinion of 321 Autotal, a minimum price is unrealistic, or if 321 Autotal thinks that the vehicle description is inaccurate, 321 Autotal has the right to reject a car or remove it from the car auction. The vehicle (normal car, damage car, salvage car, damage vehicle) can still be auctioned later after mutual consultation.

A reasonable minimum price attracts buyers and lays the foundation for a successful sale.

51
- Why are photographs of the vehicle necessary?
Photographs attract attention.
You have a much better chance of selling your vehicle (normal car, damage car, salvage car, damage vehicle) if you have some good photographs which give a clear impression of the vehicle for sale. The buyer will have much more confidence and feel that the proposition is much more attractive. This will generate a speedy sale and a higher price for you.
It is advisable to take photographs of both the vehicle’s interior and exterior to give a good impression of its condition. Take at least 4 from each corner on the outside and 2 of the inside. Furthermore, it is important that you photograph all the details and record those which could affect the price.
These details will persuade the buyer to purchase your vehicle.

52
- What do I include in the description?
You will realise automatically what to include when we go through the registration procedure with you. You will have to submit a lot of information in order to give the buyer an accurate impression of the vehicle (normal car, damage car, salvage car, damage vehicle). It is important that you include all details which could affect the price.

- Why is it so important to describe a vehicle accurately?
The description of the vehicle (normal car, damage car, salvage car, damge vehicle) is the buyer’s only opportunity to ascertain the condition of the vehicle. It gives the buyer confidence, but it is also true to say that an accurate description will prevent potential problems from arising later.
It is important that you state all details which could affect the price.
